Requirements
• Minimum 5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, with strong focus on underground utilities, sitework, or public infrastructure.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting civil construction plans and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of Florida public bidding processes and requirements.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Excel
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Florida for site visits as needed.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing thorough, professional bid packages.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate, competitive bids for public-sector projects including underground utilities, water & sewer mains, lift stations, stormwater systems, roadway improvements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, labor and equipment analysis, and material costing.
• Review plans, specifications, and addenda to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
• Collaborate the team for constructability reviews and cost optimization.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors for timely, competitive pricing.
• Support project handoff to operations teams with clear estimates and assumptions.
